Each December, the Denver community comes together on the shortest day of the year to honor those neighbors who passed away in the preceding year while experiencing homelessness. This year's We Will Remember: Homeless Persons’ Memorial Vigil will take place on Wednesday, December 21st from 5-7 PM outside the City and County Building of Denver. For 33 years, the Coalition has hosted this event in honor of those who have died in the previous year. For many, this will be the only service to mark their death.
For the December 21 event, luminary memorials will be placed outside the building, each with the name of an unhoused neighbor who passed. In addition, the names of the deceased will be read out loud and broadcast throughout the event. Denver partner organizations serving people experiencing homelessness will join Coalition President & CEO John Parvensky in reading names.
Please join us anytime from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, December 21st outside the Denver & City County Building located at 1437 Bannock Street.
There will be video and photos taken at this event throughout the night, please be aware by entering the event area you may be filmed or photographed and used in future promotional materials.
