An intergenerational conversation about queer sex work, politics, and power. Curated by LOOKOUT and AZ LGBT+ Project.About this Event
We Were Here is a collaborative program between LOOKOUT and the AZ LGBT+ History Project, designed to explore Arizona’s queer history through music, culture, and intergenerational conversation. Each session pairs an elder in the community with a younger community member doing similar work, covering different themes.
Attendees gain both historical context and contemporary perspective, creating a bridge between past and present queer culture.
On March 14, we're discussing the power and history of sex work in Phoenix's old Fruit Loop, now known as Roosevelt Row. We're bringing together former workers and current players for individual conversations on what their lives are like, how technology has changed the roles, and what we can learn from each other and the current moment.
This event is free to the public but there is an optional VIP cocktail hour at Rough Rider downstairs for $40, where you can sit down with panelists, members of LOOKOUT, and others to continue the discussion.
