We Present - Jim ‘Shaft' Ryan 💜 🪩
For someone who lived in London from 1991, when I used to tell them the coolest club, party I had been to was in Birmingham, no one ever believed me. Nevertheless, once they went to Miss Moneypenny’s and the legendary ‘secret parties’ Chuff Chuff, it was never in question.

Getting the bus to Birmingham to go to Bonds or to some obscure Country Hotel was a story in itself, but the diversity of the crowd, the mixed fashion vibe and the ability to bring DJs such as Sasha, Tony De Vit, Jeremy Healy as well as US stars such as Erick Morillo, DJ Disciple and Lord G, made it a riot.

The production of Miss Moneypenny’s was ahead of its time, the Ryan brothers had a real strong commercial eye but never lost the sense of the need to ensure the music was on point. One member of that family was a constant and someone I have had the pleasure see play in Paris, London and Leicester.

For our latest We Present we are delighted to welcome the wonderful JimShaft Ryan, main resident of Miss Moneypennys and someone who has played in Leicester many times before, many will remember the nights at J21 and Industria where many of Leicester’s DJ cabal including We Present resident Ojay Leicester would grace the decks.
