We Met at Magic Jam Night

Channel your inner rock star with We Met in Miami and Miami Sound Choir on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Magic 13 Brewing Co., for an evening of speed friending followed by live-band karaoke.

Every Wednesday, Magic 13 hosts Magic Jam Night—where YOU become the lead singer, backed by a live band.

Also on Wednesday nights, Miami Sound Choir hosts weekly rehearsals. It's a welcoming adult community choir with no auditions and no experience required.

Sounds like a good match, huh?

We’re all teaming up for the second edition of this popular event, where you'll get a chance to meet Miami Sound Choir members, sing karaoke, make new friends, and enjoy local craft beer.

Also, you’ll learn about how to join the choir, which kicks off its fall season on Aug. 26.

Singing solo not your thing? Don’t worry! There’s no pressure to perform. Spectators, back-up vocalists and lip syncers are welcome.

At We Met in Miami events, we wear wristbands that show others who we are and what we’re looking for (choose one, two or all three):

About the venue

Magic 13 offers a full menu of beverages to quench your thirst, including locally brewed beer, wine and cocktails. Hungry? Try this menu of Latin favorites like empanadas, tequeños, churrasco, burgers, and more.

Parking is free in the lot next to Magic 13. There’s also PayByPhone street parking nearby.

Here’s what to expect:

6:30 p.m. Arrival: Check in, get your wristbands and name tags, grab a beer and start mingling.

7 p.m. Opening: We’ll start with some introductions and an icebreaker.

7:15 p.m. Speed friending. Head outside to the beer garden for short guided conversations with members of Miami Sound Choir!

8 p.m. Karaoke. We'll kick it off with traditional karaoke, featuring a selection of all your favorite tunes.

9 p.m. Live band. Sign up to sing with a live band as karaoke continues.

10 p.m. Meet your match. Talk to someone cool? Drop your Connection Card in the Matchbox. If the feeling's mutual, we’ll help you reconnect.

Late-night connection. Keep singing and mingling. Magic Jam Night continues even after our activation wraps up.
