Guest Speaker: Lydia Parks

Title: Where the Nano Things Are

Summary: Lydia Parks, an electron microscopy lab manager at Duke University’s Shared Materials Instrumentation Facility (SMIF), will talk about how shared scientific facilities help empower students, researchers, and small businesses in STEM. She will take you to meet her favorite “Wild Things” – electron microscopes – and show you how big discoveries are found at the nanoscale.
