In celebration of Native American Heritage Month.
Join us for a magical afternoon of live dance performances by members of our local tribes where we will learn about the stories and significance of each dance style. In addition, local elders and children of survivors will thoughtfully share their experiences and memories from the boarding school era in Nevada. This historical period highlights the efforts to eradicate Native American cultures and the lasting trauma experienced by those affected. While the boarding school era represents a dark chapter, it also showcases the strength and resilience of Native American people in preserving their identities and traditions.
