This Art Basel Miami, The Love Below Collective invites you to experience We Da South: An Ode to The Black Miami, an exhibition celebrating the culture, creativity, and legacy of Black Miami.
Miami is more than a destination. It’s a story shaped by the people, places, sounds, and traditions that have defined its identity for generations.
From the cultural roots of Historic Overtown to the evolving experiences of Black life across South Florida, this exhibition honors the stories that have shaped our communities while celebrating the artists and creatives influencing what comes next.
Join us for three days of art, storytelling, and community in the heart of Historic Overtown.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Art Exhibition: Explore creative works reflecting the stories, identity, and cultural legacy of Black Miami.
- Film Premiere: Experience When the Crown Goes Missing, a featured film presentation.
- Exclusive HAT Upcycling Workshop: Ticket holders can participate in a hands-on creative hat upcycling workshop with Vulgar Society during opening night, December 3rd. In this workshop you will be led in design your own custom We Da South Hat with different stichings, designs, patches, and colors. The workshop is limited and requires a Upcycling Hat Ticket for Participation.
- Music & Community: Connect with fellow creatives and celebrate the culture that continues to shape our city. Sounds curated by DJ D.Maye.
