Join Made In Hackney founder Sarah Bentley for a night of food, conversation and celebration.The event is to mark the release of the award-winning plant-based cookery school and charities debut book WE COOK PLANTS – a food justice call to arms disguised as a plant-based cookery book!
The night will feature:
Root to Tip food demonstrations and tastings by earth chef Hannah Walker
A food justice themed panel discussion hosted with cultural grower Samson Hart, Food In Community director David Markson and Love Food CIC founder Maresa Bossano
A Q&A with Made In Hackney founder Sarah Bentley about her journey and new book

ABOUT WE COOK PLANTS
WE COOK PLANTS features over 100 global plant-rich recipes with contributions from Sami Tamimi, Andi Oliver, Anna Jones, Dr Rupy; tips on foraging, fermentation, food waste reduction and micro allotment growing; and think pieces from Aja Barber, Nova Reid, Earthling Ed and Yazzie Min. So much more than a cookbook it features conversations about juicy topics such as how to decolonize the food system, vegen versus organic farming, why millions of why millions of people are going hungry in the 6th wealthiest nation in the world – and much more.
This event is free entry and copies of the book will be available to buy on the night courtesy of Eastgate Bookshop.
Things Happen Here is open 2.30-10pm.

The Things Happen Here taproom is nearby the Totnes-Dartington cycle path. You can find us by walking to Dartington Primary and the Meadowbrook car park.
