Affordable housing remains a critical need, and women’s participation in construction directly supports it by expanding the skilled labor pool and improving project outcomes. Diverse teams bring enhanced communication, stronger safety records, and creative problem-solving that benefit both residential and commercial developments. Rural areas (and, much of our community is rural), in particular, face unique workforce shortages; targeted networking and mentorship through monthly gatherings can help connect women in construction to local projects, apprenticeship programs, and training initiatives.
