WBA Foundation 2026 Wine Tasting and Silent Auction

Join us for the WBA Foundation's 24th Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

This year’s theme is “Raise a Glass: Celebrating Women in Wine.” The evening will bring together a vibrant community of legal professionals, changemakers, and supporters for a glamorous evening—while advancing the legal and social needs of women and girls in the DC area.

Our tasting will be led by Jay Youmans, MW. Jay has been tasting wine professionally for nearly 30 years. He is the Educational Director and Owner of the Capital Wine School; and the Owner of Rock Creek Wine Merchants, a sales and marketing consultancy. Jay has served as a wine judge for numerous wine competitions and has contributed to several books and magazines on wine. Jay is an Advanced Level Sommelier (AS), a Certified Wine Educator (CWE), a French Wine Scholar (FWS), an Italian Wine Professional (IWP), a Bordeaux Wine Educator, a Burgundy Wine Educator, a Certified Specialist of Sherry, and Washington, DC’s first Master of Wine (MW).

Attendees will have a chance to bid online for dozens of unique and unbeatable auction items, some of which will be on display at the event. All of this will take place while in the companionship of friends and acquaintances gathered in fellowship and in support of the WBAF. Don’t miss it!

Proceeds from the event benefit the WBAF Founders Fellowship and our Community Grant programs. Over the years, the WBAF has awarded almost $1.5 million to support the legal and related needs of many women and girls in DC. Silent Auction

Silent auction items include sports tickets, vacation stays, tickets to local theaters, unique experiences, jewelry and handcrafts, and several gift baskets. Access to the auction is both online and in-person.
