You are invited to join our ecology volunteers at Stonebarrow to learn more about Waxcap fungi Waxcap fungi are fascinating, not only for their vibrant colours, but also for their significance as indicators of healthy grasslands. Their conservation is important for maintaining biodiversity and preserving these unique and beautiful fungi for future generations to enjoy.
Many waxcap species are considered rare or threatened, primarily due to habitat loss and land management practices such intensive agriculture.
This is a drop in event taking place on Tuesday 28th Oct starting at 10am. Arrive anytime between 10:00 and 12:00 and self guide down to the Waxcap fields where our volunteers will be waiting to meet you. The event will end at 13:00.
There will be signposts to indicate the way.
