About this Event
Step into a world where Caribbean imagination meets the future. Island SPACE invites you to an unforgettable evening celebrating Waves of Innovation: A Celebration of Caribbean Invention—our final art reception of the year and one of our most dynamic exhibitions to date.
This immersive experience spotlights visionary creators whose work expands how we see movement, identity, technology, and Caribbean ingenuity.
Featuring Two Trailblazing Artists
Guy Beckles (Trinidad & Tobago)
Internationally acclaimed as the only practicing kinetic artist in the English-speaking Caribbean, Guy Beckles fuses engineering, mathematics, and physics into hypnotic moving sculptures. His pieces—featured from the National Museum of Trinidad to galleries in London, New York, and Toronto—challenge the line between art and invention.
Robert Derrick (Dominica)
With training in New York and Kenya, Robert Derrick’s bold visual language explores Afro-Caribbean form, design, and spirit. His mixed-media works pulse with color, narrative, and a global Caribbean perspective.
