Watershed is a Columbus rock and roll institution. Join them on Friday, July 31, as they celebrate the 15th anniversary re-release of bassist/vocalist Joe Oestreich’s legendary memoir HITLESS WONDER.
Formed in 1985 by Oestreich, Colin Gawel (vocals and guitar), and Herb Schupp (drums) while they were still in high school, Watershed signed with Epic Records in the early nineties. After the release of a live EP and a studio album (1995’s Twister), Epic dropped the band. Many artists would have broken up at that moment, but Watershed—owing to equal parts optimism and stubbornness—found a new drummer (Dave Masica) and kept plowing forward, producing their best work, including the albums The More it Hurts, The More it Works; Fifth of July; and their most recent studio effort, Blow it Up Before it Breaks. Thanks to significant airplay on WWCD, tracks from these albums cemented the band’s place in the annals of Ohio music.
For the full story, read HITLESS WONDER, which Sirius XM’s Lou Brutus called the “BEST. ROCK. BOOK. EVER.” and Publisher’s Weeklycalled “a hilarious and savvy look at the harsh realities of the music industry.”
Food & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show. If you would like to eat before the show we encourage you to make a dinner reservation on Resy for our kitchen side of the venue.
