Hi all! THURSDAY AUGUST 28 ~ Watermelon Day/Table at Royal Jubilee Hospital- we are looking to start with RJH first, see how it goes and then follow with VGH and San Pen in the following weeks. I’m speaking with someone from BC nurses united for social justice/ yvr HWAG group who have done a couple of these events. Will ask some questions about their event to get some intel!
-Will be similar to our event at the Legislature on Canada Day: peaceful, no chanting, inviting people to learn and join our group, sign some things and of course eat watermelon!
- We are going to set up our table on public property ( Molly will scout a spot this week) as we will most likely get kicked off hospital property.
- Kat and Molly are collaborating on the info sheets/ how to get involved sheets.
- we will check with arms embargo to see if they would like us to include any postcards etc
- we’re more than happy to have as much info as possible on the tables i.e. Mike we could include some of your postcards?
Things we will need:
- table
- watermelon / trays to serve it
- HWAG buttons? Smaller ones are ideal.
-banner? Or just some of our signs
- we will wear scrubs and white coats again
