Watergate Break-in/ All the President's Men Guided In-Person Walking Tour

Fifty years ago, in June of 1972, five men were arrested for breaking in to an office at the Watergate complex and forty eight years ago in August of 1974 President Nixon resigned from office, making him the only president in U.S. history to take that action.

And remember the great movie “All The President’s Men” (nominated for 8 Academy Awards - winning 4) with Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman as Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein of the Washington Post? We'll walk to the Watergate complex and look at the sites associated with that fateful event,

This will be an in-person on location event, and will not be streamed on-line.

While all large cities have museums, art galleries and sports teams - Washington, DC is unique in that you can see the exact places where so many important events in our nation's history took place. Watergate is a perfect example. It was the biggest political scandal in American history, and the subsequent book and film "All The President's Men" highlights one of the greatest detective stories in journalistic history. This program is led by Harry Phillips, who has been leading tours of Arlington National Cemetery and other locations in the Washington DC area.

Weather: This event will take place light rain (sprinkles) or shine.

Meeting Point: The Foggy Bottom Metro Station - street-level exit. Look for your host Harry, wearing a light-colored broad-brimmed hat and a group of friendly people. If you arrive late walk towards the Watergate and look for our tour group.
