I have some big news to share, and if I’m being completely candid, I’m feeling a mix of pure local pride and some serious pre-show jitters.
On July 3rd from 4:30–5:30 PM, I’ll be performing at the Waterfront Blues Festival here in Portland. This is my first time ever playing the festival, and it marks a huge personal milestone: my first full band performance in seven years.
Stepping back into the full band sound after such a long hiatus feels both right and incredibly humbling. Just got back from throat doc appt. and they gave me the ok! The scale of this festival is massive, and seeing my name alongside greats like Alejandro Escovedo, Toody Cole (Dead Moon), and The Delines and many more is something I don’t take lightly.
I’m lucky enough to be backed by some of the finest musicians I know: Luther Russell (Those Pretty Wrongs), Paul Brainard (Richmond Fontaine), Dan Eccles (Richmond Fontaine), and Freddy Trujillo (The Delines/Richmond Fontaine).
We’ll be playing a career-spanning set, including a first look at songs from my upcoming record, The Lucky House.
