Join us for family fun, a community potluck, water games and presentations in celebration of a vital cause - restoring, protecting, and promoting the natural mineral springs that define Manitou Springs' unique identity.

Manitou’s Early Mineral Water Culture: How it all Began - Deborah Harrison
"The Manitou Springs Heritage Center and Museum and the Mineral Springs Foundation, in celebration of the ManitouSprings Waterfest, proudly announce a presentation, Manitou's Early Mineral Water Culture: How It All Began by DeborahHarrison. Ms. Harrison, who is currently a Board Member of the Manitou Springs Heritage Center and author of several books concerning Manitou Springs' history, will be exploring the effect of the mineral springs on the evolution of its unique culture from the 1870s to the 1920s, when the allure of the springs began to give way to commercial tourism."

The Spirit of SunWater Spa - Kat Tudor
Kat will discuss the spiritual power and work behind the opening of SunWater Spa. Kat Tudor is the co-owner of Sunwater Spa and Creative Director and Founder of The Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts (est. 1992) Her artistic endeavors in Southern Colorado are exemplary, fun, and profound.

Under SunWater Spa - Don Goede
Don will talk about the relationship between Manitou’s aquifer and SunWater Spa. Don Goede is co-owner of SunWater Spa and also works an executive producer, director, entrepreneur, artist, musician, volunteer, and professional Manitoid. And not necessarily in any order!

Mineral Water is Medicine - Larry Cesspooch
Larry will talk about the medicinal relationship between the Ute People and the mineral waters of Manitou. Larry Cesspooch is a Ute Spiritual Leader and grew up on the Uintah & Ouray Ute Reservation in Northeastern Utah. Larry served in the U.S. Navy as a Radioman in Vietnam, Hawaii, and Texas. He attended the Institute of American Indian Arts for his AA, and the Anthropology Film.
