Waterfalls ~ in acrylics with David ‘DJ’ Johnson

Artist David ‘DJ’ Johnson is well known for his stunning plein air paintings – he is an adventurer who likes to climb mountains and paint extraordinary landscapes.
The workshop involves exploring how to paint movement found in waterfalls and fast flowing waters, as well as the textures you find in the trees, leaves and rock. DJ teaches a variety of techniques including using palette knives, sponges and brushes to achieve a wide range of textures and patterns found in these landscapes. We also use drybrushing techniques combine with colour washes to emulate the feeling of movement in water. These are techniques that DJ has been exploring and developing for a few years now.
This workshop will be taught through a series of demonstrations and one to one tuition. You will study and play with colour, light, tonal values and textures, allowing for individual creative expression.
