WATERCOLOR - PORTRAIT AND FIGURE (3 WEEKS EACH)

Lower Epperson Auditorium. Enter from East side lower entrance.

This course is a more advanced watercolor course for students with some experience in portrait drawing and watercolor. Watercolor techniques will be explored along with renewal of color theory knowledge and composition concepts for the portrait and figure in watercolor, including mixing pigment for skin tones, exploring the use of complementary colors and negative space, as well as the light source. Achieving success in portrait and figure painting is creating an emotional and psychological link with the model through accurate rendering of the unique structure and value shapes of the head, shoulders and full figure.

The instructor will contact registered students regarding supplies needed.

Parking:

Parking for the class is available on the street and in the main KCAI entrance parking lot at 4415 Warwick Blvd., and in the south parking lot at Warwick and Oak.
