Watercolor as Meditation: Stacking Stones
Advertisement
Relax into your weekend and get lost in your favorite color through the calming practice of watercolor painting. Begin by exploring the differences between watercolor paints and watercolor inks through simple practice exercises. No painting experience is needed!
Then, settle into peaceful, quiet creative time accompanied by soft music, allowing everyone the space to focus on their painting in a calm, stress-free atmosphere. Using stacks of stones, also known as cairns, as inspiration, participants will create three to four paintings while experimenting with color, materials, and techniques introduced during class.
Each participant will receive one 9 x 12 inch piece of watercolor paper and two 4 x 9 inch pieces of gesso-coated canvas. Completed paintings will vary in size based on each participant's artistic choices.
