Create your own masterpiece inspired by Kay WalkingStick!Take a break together outdoors and enjoy this beautiful time of year as part of our art-making series inspired by the new exhibition Kay WalkingStick / Hudson River School. Surrounded by fresh air and creativity, spend quality time with friends or family as you paint, talk, and connect.
This relaxed, drop-in activity invites participants of all ages and experience levels to slow down, look closely, and reflect on our relationships to land — just as Cherokee artist Kay WalkingStick does in her work.
What to expect:
🌵 Outdoor painting surrounded by the museum’s landscape
🎨 Art supplies included — watercolor paints, paper, brushes
🌟 Quality time with family and friends as you make art together
🫶 Helpful support from Heard Museum Education staff
🖌️ Painting prompts that connect art and land
Let this be a moment to be inspired by Indigenous creativity, enjoy the season, and appreciate the stories carried by the landscapes around us.
