About this Event

Overview

Join Straddle Health & Wellbeing Services for The Art and Science of Water, a free, interactive community event taking place as part of Research Ireland Science Week 2026.

Our event, Water, Wellbeing and Inequality in Underserved Communities, explores how water connects to our bodies, our health, our environment and our everyday lives. Through accessible science activities, practical demonstrations and facilitated conversations, participants will discover how hydration, water quality, hygiene and environmental conditions can influence health and wellbeing.

What to expect

Participants can expect a welcoming, relaxed and inclusive experience with hands-on activities and opportunities to learn, ask questions, share experiences and explore science together. Topics will include water and the body, hydration and wellbeing, our environment, and water in daily life and healthy communities.

No previous knowledge of science is required. Everyone is welcome.

The event is FREE, with lunch and refreshments provided. Transport support may be available where required and must be arranged in advance.. Accessibility, language and other reasonable supports can be requested during registration.

Places are limited, so early registration is encouraged.
