About this Event
City Stormwater staff will take you on a guided tour of the newly installed wetland system. Learn how water is pumped from Long’s Pond and through a series of vegetated ‘filters’ to return clean water to the pond. Learn about the native plant species growing throughout the wetlands and how they support green herons, redwing blackbirds, painted and snapping turtles, butterflies, pollinators and more in a thriving ecosystem. Also learn about the trees of Long’s Park, including a riparian buffer. Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, and bring a water bottle. This event is recommended for ages 16 and up (participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation for severe weather made at the time of the event. If the event is rescheduled, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the event is canceled, attendees will be notified via email when possible and refunded.
