WATER CONTACT
As land creatures, we are used to moving against gravity. What happens when gravity is taken out of the equation? In this workshop we will transform ourselves into liquid beings and learn how to move in this new environment. This workshop will combine Contact Improvisation (a genre in dance) and Aquatic Therapy. We will explore movement in a liquid environment, while focusing on the physical connection and relations between movers. We will learn how to observe movement and body- language in others in order to have a better nonverbal communication. Some of the exercises will be while our heads are out of the water, and others while we are fully submerged. For that, nose clips will be provided. We will learn the different properties of the water, and how each property effects our bodies (while moving or still).
This workshop is for anybody interested in deepening their connection with their body. Whether you are an experienced mover or not, this workshop is suitable for all levels. The only requirement is a playful and curious approach
This workshop is hosted by Elik Gilad, a highly experienced aquatic therapist.
