It is a tradition in UUA congregations, to celebrate through the ritual of the Water Ceremony, a coming back together from the experiences of summer, on the first Sunday after Labor Day. At our Service on Sunday September 7, we will join in community by participating in the Water Ceremony and asking all to bring a small container of water with them to the Sunday Service. It could be from a trip, from a back yard pond, from the river/creek, or even from your own faucet. We will each pour our water into a large container, and those who are comfortable share a brief response on the significance of water in their lives. Our Youth will be a part of the service and participate with their parents in reflecting on the gift that water is to them. We ask that the kids sit with their parents during the service so able to participate as a family. There will be no Youth programing downstairs on September 7.
