Start January off with a bang! Make the most of a dark and cold January evening by joining us at the farm for our annual Wassail.
Wassailing is an Anglo-Saxon, Twelfth Night tradition with pagan roots that has been practised in Britain for centuries. We wassail to bless our orchards to ensure a good harvest for the year to come.
Timings are as follows:
5pm - arrival (plenty of parking available!)
5.15pm - Follow the drumbeat on a circular walk through the orchards (it's a hullabaloo so feel free to bring drums or any percussion for the procession!)
6pm - Gather at "Old Man Apple Tree" for a traditional Wassail ceremony
6:30pm - Everybody in to the tractor shed for singing, Morris dancing, venison burgers and mulled cider.
This is always such a fun event for the whole family, not to mention it's free to attend and no need to book!
Please remember that this is a working farm so bring suitable footwear, warm clothing and a torch.
