Get ready, D.C. and Young Senators familyβitβs time to celebrate true royalty! π₯β¨
We have a Major Announcement about our legendary sisters-in-music, The Jewels. On October 29, 2026, the African American Music Association will join the District of Columbia in officially dedicating a street in their honor: "THE JEWELS WAY."
Our history with these phenomenal women runs deep. The original members of The Young Senators have known and loved The Jewels since our days walking the halls together at Theodore Roosevelt High School. From the basement studio of Bo Diddley to stages across the country, we watched their incredible Doo-Wop harmonies take the world by storm and make our hometown proud. They are finally receiving the monumental recognition they so richly deserve!
Come out and celebrate this historic day of music, legacy, and community with us and the African American Music Association. The entire event is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
π Event Schedule (October 29, 2026):
β’ 4:00 P.M. β Street Sign Unveiling
π 13th Street, NW (Between Upsher & Allison Streets, NW)
β’ 4:30 P.M. β The Jewels Tribute
π Theodore Roosevelt High School Auditorium (4301 13th Street, NW)
Letβs pack the house and the streets for the fabulous females who rocked the world. Great groups make great music, and legends live forever!
