A life-affirming collaboration bringing big-hearted Mutti Mutti singer-songwriter Kutcha Edwards together with the Melbourne Youth Orchestra.
Kutcha Edwards has been working prolifically as a songwriter since 1991. His experiences as a survivor of the Stolen Generations and his proud Mutti Mutti heritage have shaped
his diverse creative output using music to create connections across cultures, generations and spaces.
For this concert Kutcha's powerful songs will be presented in new orchestral settings with the esteemed Melbourne Youth Orchestra and conductor Brett Kelly.
Warta-Kiki, meaning "Come Together" in Mutti Mutti language, takes the audience on a profound musical journey exploring themes of birth, youth, love, land, family, and future.
The concert also includes Peter Sculthorpe's Earth Cry and Richard Strauss's Death and Transfiguration, delving into the essence of ancient Australia and the profound themes of life, death, and transformation.
