Warriors (1979)

The Warriors is a 1979 action thrller with ridiculous comedy; direceted by Walter Hill, based on the screenplay he wrote with David Shaber, based on the 1965 novel of the same name by Sol Yurick.

Set in a gritty, stylized version of New York City, we follow a street gang called The Warriors from Coney Island.

All of the city’s gangs—hundreds of them—are called to a massive meeting in the Bronx for a truce and a shared vision: if all gangs unite, they can rule the city instead of fighting each other or the police.

But during the gathering, trouble goes down and The Warriors must fight their way back home through hostile gang territories, all while evading both enemies and the police.
