Fall 40k Escalation League
What is it?:
An Escalation League is a series of games that increase in size over time. And, as the games get larger and require more models to be used, hobbyists are challenged with building and painting to keep with this demand! Players will score points both for playing games and for getting units painted up to Battle Ready* standards. For our league, we will start with a Combat Patrol game, then escalate (in 250 point increments) up to 1500 point games. A new mission will be available every two weeks and players will have an opportunity to report their hobby progress when they come in to play. The ‘League Champion’ will be the player with the highest accumulation of points, being the sum of their ‘Hobby’ and ‘Game’ scores.
What you’ll need:
-Your collection of citadel miniatures and their Index/Codex (first party only)
-A copy of the Warhammer 40,000 Core Rules (first party only)
-Dice and Measuring Implements
-Mission Decks (optional)
Important Dates:
Aug 23rd-Sept 5th: Muster Period (pick up what you need)
Sept 6th-12th: Combat Patrol
Sept 20th-26th: 750 point game
Oct 4th-10th: 1000 point game
Oct 18th-24th: 1250 point game
Nov 8th-14th: 1500 point game
Nov 15th: End of League Award Ceremony
League FAQ:
-Game Result Scoring: Players will receive 250 points for a Win, 200 points for a Draw, and 150 points for a loss. If a player, who has already completed and scored the current mission, plays the mission again in order to help another league player play the mission for the first time, they will score 50 more points (once per mission, and recorded as 50 points on the ‘Hobby Tracker’).
-Hobby Scoring: Players will earn progress on their ‘Hobby Tracker’ for painting units, equal to the points cost of the unit. Players will receive ‘Hobby Score’ 250 league points when they surpass 500, 750, 1000, 1250, and 1500 points worth of painted units, respectively.
-To earn points for painting units, the player must prove that this unit was mostly/entirely painted during the league (between Aug 23rd-Nov 14th). Please take photos of unfinished models (dated within the league’s start and end) or show me the models that you intend to paint before you paint them. This might seem laborious, but it’s the best way to keep it honest.
-Players do not have to participate in the ‘Hobby Score’ element of the league. Conversely, players don’t have to participate in games to earn their ‘Hobby Score.’
-*Battle Ready means that every model in a unit has been base-coated, shaded, and its base finished.
