Film Screening: War at Kilometer Zero — How Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine Began
About this Event

More than a decade has passed since Russia first invaded Ukraine and launched the war that continues today. To mark Ukrainian Independence Day (August 24th), Senate Square Society will screen the 2016 documentary War at Kilometer Zero, which tells the story of Ukrainian border guards who faced some of the earliest attacks in 2014

Through firsthand testimony, archival footage, and dramatic reconstruction, the film returns to the opening months of the war — before the front lines, scale of destruction, and global consequences were fully understood. Join us as we look back at how the invasion began, honor those who first resisted it, and reflect on how Ukraine, Russia, and the war itself have changed over the past twelve years.

At each of our events you can expect a warm atmosphere, an ability to network as well as complimentary refreshments.
RSVP is recommended, and donations welcomed.
