War and Peace on the Rio Grande Frontier public lecture and book signing

This presentation will focus on what transpired in the Rio Grande border region during half a century from 1830 to 1880. It will deal with the wars and the violence that characterized the period, but it will contrast this with the many peaceful interactions and cooperation among the different groups that inhabited the region such as Anglos, Mexicans, Europeans, African Americans and Native Americans.
