Parks Canada welcomes you to Hangar 1825 on the Lachine Canal for an evening of short film screenings in partnership with Wapikoni.🎥 Featuring: Miziyeni
This program features a series of nine short films that highlight the Anishnabe language, as part of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages.
Designed for the general audience, this series of nine short films was elaborated by Kevin Papatie, an Anishnabe from Kitcisakik, who assisted Tcidjia Penosway (also from Kitcisakik) and Amy Kistabish Jerome (from Pikogan) as mentor.
Through these works, the program emphasizes the importance of language as a tool for cultural transmission and identity. 🗣️
Ambassador Xan Choquet, an Innu from Mashteuiatsh, will be present to introduce the films and answer questions.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m., rain or shine.
