Greetings WAPF Members, Friends and Family,Happy September to all of you and believe it or not, I'm happy to be back home in Collier County, definitely one of the most beautiful places in the world! I hope you all had a fabulous summer, and I'm happy to let you know about our upcoming events.
Karen Gay, the Pasco-Hernandez Volunteer Chapter Leader, and Anya Adams, the Sarasota Volunteer Chapter Leader, have arranged for Aaron Miller of Miller's Bio Farm, an amazing Amish Farm in Quarryville PA, to offer their products for pick-up in Brooksville and Tampa FL, and have invited all that are able to attend to a raw milk and cookie party on Tuesday September 16th at 10am at 709 W. Jefferson St., Brooksville. While I'm grateful for the amount of local farms within an hour of Collier County, as well as Seed To Table Grocery Store and Oikos Food Buyers Club, (all can be found on our Naples Resource List attached to his email), some of you may be interested in checking out another source for pastured meats and raw dairy, especially if you travel to or plan on moving to Tampa or the Brooksville area. I encourage you all to visit Miller's Bio Farm online to see if they may meet your needs for farm fresh nutrient-dense foods for you and your family.
Next up I want to thank our member Wendy for letting me know about a very informative website, My Health Forward, from a regenerative farm in Wyoming that sells heirloom seeds, organic teas, tinctures, and has a wealth of quality information that you should all check out. Apparently, toxic Orgainipeel, which had been approved by the EPA to coat organic produce, has THANKFULLY been discontinued, read more here: Organipeel Discontinued and here is a very thorough list of grocery stores and their current (as of July 2025) stance on carrying conventional produce that has been coated with the toxic APEEL product: https://myhealthforward.com/blogs/my-health-forward-blog/apeel. Of course, the more produce we can grow ourselves or buy locally from biodynamic farms, the less toxins we have to worry about consuming!
As most of you have already heard, our great State of Florida is the first to end childhood vaccine mandates, thanks to the courage and leadership of both our State Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo and our Governor Ron Desantis! Now the decision of if, or when, to vaccinate a child has been rightfully returned to the parents, and now is the PERFECT TIME to share the science-based information, research and studies gathered by our fearless organization, The Weston A. Price Foundation, over the last 25 years with any confused and fearful family, friends or neighbors. SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 28TH 1 - 4PM, NORTH COLLIER REGIONAL PARK SOCCER PAVILION
Our next WAPF Potluck and Meeting will be held on Sunday September 28th from 1 to 4pm at the Soccer Pavilion at the North Collier Regional Park located at 15000 Livingston Road in Naples. When you enter off of Livingston, drive past Sun N' Fun and continue straight all the way to the end and turn LEFT right before the softball field. There you will find plenty of parking, and you'll see me at the covered pavilion with 5 picnic tables on your right, just before two soccer fields. We are hoping for clear skies, but will plan on meeting rain or shine! There is ample parking, and bathrooms nearby. Bob Ackley, the new Co-Chapter Leader, and I will be there by 12:30pm to set up, so keep driving until you see us, or feel free to call or text me at 239-961-9270 if you get lost. We encourage you to bring enough of your favorite nutrient-dense dish to share with the group, there are plenty of wonderful recipes online at https://www.westonaprice.org/category/our-blogs/recipe-of-the-week/#gsc.tab=0, and remember to bring serving utensils. All are welcome! Feel free to invite friends and neighbors!
Our September speaker will be Kye Hing of Hing Family Apiaries, who will be speaking about the importance of bees for the health of local agriculture, live bee removal services, her business as a beekeeper in SWFL, beekeeping mentorship, and the many benefits of bee products such as raw local honey, tinctures and soaps. And it's still not too late to register for our Wise Traditions Conference October 17th - 19th in Salt Lake City!
