Hygienic Art Gallery proudly presents Wandering Uterus, an exhibition showcasing the powerful and diverse works of eleven women artists: Shannon Gagne, Beverley Fisher, Tina McCurdy, Katia Porter, Carrie Dinunzio, Shelley Osowiecki-Dobson, Emily Holman, Tricia Kelly, Katie Osowiecki-Zolnik, Kim Tyler, and Ann Averill.The title Wandering Uterus references the ancient medical myth of hysteria, where the uterus was believed to move freely within the body, causing emotional and physical disruptions. Reclaimed in a contemporary context, the phrase now speaks to women’s resilience, autonomy, and creative expression. Through a range of mediums, these artists explore themes of identity, movement, and transformation.
Join us for the opening reception on March 22, 6–9 PM at Hygienic Art Gallery, 79 Bank Street, New London, CT. The exhibition runs from March 22 – April 19, 2025, with gallery hours Thursday – Sunday, 12–7 PM.
