Wandering Book Club

The Embassy of Ireland’s Berlin-based Wandering Book Club returns on 12 May at 18:00 at Curious Fox Books in Kreuzberg. We will be discussing Audrey Magee’s novel The Colony, which was longlisted for the 2022 Booker Prize and won the 2023 InWords Literary Award. The Colony is also available in German [DE title: Die Kolonie]. Please note that the book club will be held in English.

Audrey Magee worked for twelve years as a journalist and has written for, among others, The Times, The Irish Times, the Observer and the Guardian. She studied German and French at University College Dublin and journalism at Dublin City University.

Her first novel, The Undertaking, was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, for France’s Festival du Premier Roman and for the Irish Book Awards.

On 18 May, Audrey Magee will be in Berlin for an event with the Embassy in partnership with Humboldt Universität Centre for British Studies. Audrey will discuss her work, including The Colony.
