On Friday and Saturday, August 23-24, The Mahoning Drive-In Theater is proud to present a tantalizing trip inside WALT’S ANIMATION VAULT, with a rare 35mm double feature of two 1990s Disney cartoon classics, ALADDIN (1992) and THE LITTLE MERMAID (1989)!For years we have been working to crack the coveted Animated Disney Vault to bring the magic back to life at our retro showplace for the next generation.. We have been granted access to the original 35mm materials audiences enjoyed in theaters. To say we are excited would be an understatement;)
For two nights, two beloved blockbuster films ruled the 1990s Disney animation renaissance, and helped cement the format for the studio’s features that continue to this day, finally hit the big, BIG screen!
We begin with a trip to a far-off place, long ago…imagine if you had three wishes, three hopes, three dreams, and they could all come true. This is the situation young Arabian street urchin Aladdin (Scott Weinger) finds himself in, seeking to save Princess Jasmine (Linda Larkin) from the clutches of the evil Jafar (Jonathan Freeman) and his cackling lackey parrot Iago (Gilbert Gottfried), with the help of Genie (Robin Williams). A hilarious, romantic fantasy musical filled with magic and adventure!
We follow that with a trip under the sea with THE LITTLE MERMAID (1989).
We will be reversing the order of films on Saturday night with THE LITTLE MERMAID as the lead picture.
See these two classics again for the first time on the giant outdoor screen on 35mm film, and let the Disney magic fill your eyes and ears with the joys of being a kid again!
Gates open at 6pm, showtime at sundown.

General Ticket: $12 (per person) - General+Extended Pass*: $22 (per person)
Kids Pricing: $5 General Ticket (under 13years). Kids General+Extended Pass*: $15 (under 13yrs)
