Waltham Forest Children's Ukulele Club

We invite your child to join our new after school Ukulele Club so they can continue to learn how to play the ukulele. Our Ukulele Club is for any child aged 8 to 12 years in Waltham Forest who’s learned ukulele in their class at school, or who would like to learn from scratch.

Led by music teachers, the weekly group will begin with fun warm up exercises and then will learn simple chords to play melodies together. The group will work towards a performance at the end of term so that parents and carers can enjoy the Ukulele Club’s music.

Who can join?

Waltham Forest Children's Ukulele Club is for children aged 8 to 12, no experience needed, beginners are welcome.

An excellent 'next step' for children who've played ukulele in their class at school.

Where and when?

• Tuesdays 4.30pm-5.30pm, starting on 10th January 2023
• 10 week term
• Held at Walthamstow School for Girls E17 9SB View on map

Fees

£34 per 10 week term, £17 low income*

Bring your own ukulele, or buy a Mahalo Rainbow Ukulele from us for discounted price of £22.

If buying a ukulele from us, please select the 'Ukulele Club + buy a ukulele' ticket type.

The Ukulele Club is included in Music School Membership, so if your child already attends another Music School Group you do not need to pay any additional fee to attend this group.

* Proof of low income is required to qualify for subsidised fees. Please send copies of housing benefit or reduced Council Tax letter to the Music Service office​. The Council Tax single occupancy 25% discount doesn’t apply.

How to join the Children's Ukulele Club:

1. Register and pay with this Eventbrite form
2. If buying a ukulele from us these will be available to collect from the Music Service office between 12th-16th December (in time for Christmas gifting!) or at the first session on 10th January.

About Music School

Waltham Forest Music School run music groups for all ages and abilities after school and on Saturdays during term time, as well as workshops, performance opportunities and trips.

In a music group, ensemble or orchestra young people can use the skills they develop in lessons, while improving their confidence and performance ability through a fun and sociable learning experience.

When joining this group, your child becomes a Music School member and can join additional groups.
