Walter Munk Day is an annual celebration honoring the legendary oceanographer Walter Munk, bringing together people of all ages for a one-of-a-kind event. Attendees enjoy hands-on ocean activities for kids, live music and the chance to learn about Kumeyaay heritage and culture. The event offers unique experiences like building and launching tule boats and exploring exhibits from over 60 incredible marine organizations. More than just a festival, Walter Munk Day fosters community engagement, ocean education, and environmental awareness.
