Directed by Dr. Walter Barr, a local Rossmoor resident, The "Big Band" plays everything from the 1920s and 30s classic jazz to swing era favorites and Latin music to contemporary hits.

Dr. Barr holds degrees in music, music performance, and music education. His conducting credentials include the Jefferson Symphony, The Ultraphonic Jazz Orchestra, The Denver Jazz Orchestra. He has performed with Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, Henry Mancini, Lou Rawls, Dave Brubeck and many other notable artists.
