Townsend Rd will dead end right into Walloon Lake. Early arrival and carpooling is recommended here, as parking is limited, and it's also fisherman's favorite launch. There is a groovy boat washing station where you can hose down your boards before and post paddle to help prevent transfer of invasive aquatic plants - the Walloon Association and Conservancy goes to great lengths to keep this lake pristine. Load your car with board, paddle, PFD, snack, blanket, and layers of clothes for the cooler evening. We love Northern Michigan evenings on the water!
