About this Event
Geared toward young animal lovers who want to explore the abundance of career paths in the field of animal care from companion animal medicine, to equine and livestock opportunities, to working with wildlife and exotics, search and rescue animals, and more!
The modular curriculum explores a different animal care or husbandry discipline each day, with experience ranging from hands-on procedural practice to guest presentations from experts in the field. Please note: the listed agenda may change based on availability of demo and workshop participants.
Please be advised: This itinerary features hands-on practice with medical equipment, which may include: needles, scalpels, fecal float medium (no handling of any actual biohazards), etc. It also offers the opportunity for observations of animals under anesthesia for procedures such as spay/neuter and dentals, which may be graphic for some campers (procedures dependent on medical team availability).
Camp sessions take place Monday-Friday from 9am-12pm. The recommended age range for campers is 12-16.
