About this Event

Photo © 2020 David Charnick – Site of Shakespeare's Globe, Park Street

He was a man, take him for all in all, / I shall not look upon his like again.

(Hamlet Act One, Scene Two)

William Shakespeare is the stuff of legend, but this can distract us from the real man. What was his position as a writer in late Tudor London?

This 'companion to Shakespeare' tour celebrates the poet, the social climber and the man of the stage.

Meet me outside the Cathedral Exit (Exit 2) from St Paul's Underground Station (Central Line).

The tour will take approximately two hours. It finishes at Southwark Cathedral, near London Bridge Underground and Main Line Stations.
