Tales of the knights of London’s medieval past on a walk taking in the sites of jousts, executions, and crusaders’ headquartersAbout this Event
- Temple Church entry tickets which normally cost £5 (£3 concession) are included in the price of this tour.
- A guided walking tour with an official City of London guide where we will hear chivalrous (and not so chivalrous) tales of the knights of London’s medieval past, from the time when the city was encircled by its rebuilt Roman walls.
- The tour will take in the sites of jousts, executions, and crusaders’ headquarters, and along the way hear of the development of Arthurian legend, the mystery of the Warwick Lane knight and the rumoured lover of the last medieval Queen.
- We will learn about the deeds of famous and notorious knights from the time of the Wars of the Roses, and discover medieval London history from its ruins.
