Dale’s tour will discuss the history of Joaquin Miller, along with Juanita Miller, the Heights, and the creation of Joaquin Miller Park. We will visit the Abbey, the WPA Cascade restoration project, along with several of the Follies built by Joaquin Miller. Dale will also discuss current issues facing the park.
Leader: Dale Risden is currently Chair of “Friends of Joaquin Miller Park”, and has led the effort to restore the Abbey. The current effort is restoring Cascade Reflecting Pool and Fountain. He has also been involved with community projects to reduce fire issues within the Park. Dale was given OHA’s Partners in Preservation award for his work restoration of the Abbey
