Walking Tour: French Icons of Melbourne

Come and immerse yourself in lesser known aspects of Melbourne seen through a French eye.

Be prepared to walk a little and enjoy a few French touches along the way... L'Occitane... Christine... La Belle Miette... All senses awaken !!!!

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours

Tours begin from the Bastille Day French Festival's Information Booth (located in Sheds C & D of the Queen Victoria Market). Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour to allow for ticket check-ins and a punctual departure.

Swap your beanie for a beret and come down to the iconic Queen Victoria Market's Sheds C & D this Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July for the annual Bastille Day French Festival. Everyone's favourite celebration of all things French in Melbourne is back in 2023 with our most authentic feel yet in this new venue.

The Bastille Day French Festival of Melbourne will transport you to a classic wintry French town square and mark the start of the celebrations in the lead up to the French National Day.

A winter market packed with local French-Australian businesses, mouth-watering French cuisine, dazzling artists and performers, a ticketed program filled with Les Lumières talks, Walking Tours and masterclasses, right in the heart of the city! All with the delicious scent of croissants floating through the air. We will also have our Online Program in full swing so if you can’t join us in person, join us online for a range of live crosses to France, in conversations, musical delights and more! Join us in person or online, as the joie de vivre returns this July.
