About this Event

Join us for a special walking tour: Fallen Firefighters

Since the early days of the village of Milwaukie and two leather buckets for hauling water to the metropolis of Milwaukee and its state-of-the-art equipment for fighting Beertown blazes, firefighters have put their lives on the line, many paying the ultimate price.

Take a stroll with us through Forest Home Cemetery as we honor the brave firefighters who have sacrificed their lives to keep our communities safe. Learn about their stories, heroism and legacy on this walking tour.

Date: Sat May 04 2024

On National Firefighters Day, pay your respects and gain a deeper appreciation for the dedication and courage of the men and women who kept the city safe from flames every day.

About your tour guide

After retiring, Cyndi felt like she had way too much free time. First volunteering as a Pabst Mansion docent, it just snowballed into Historic Milwaukee Inc walking tours, then Forest Home, followed by Edelweiss boat tours, culminating with the holiday season as an elf narrator on the City Lights Jingle buses. She's never stumbled on a rabbit hole she could walk away from so be prepared for not-your-usual-tour tidbits!
