Bethnal Green to Greenwich – One of three longer walking tours between Christmas Day and Twelfth Night
About this Event

In the quiet days between Christmas Day and Twelfth Night join me for a longer walking tour. These are friendly gatherings with lots of questions and interaction.

The routes always include a mix of outdoor spaces, such as parks or rivers, as well as urban environments, interesting buildings and market streets, and are planned to include a lunchtime break at a location where there are plenty of refreshment options (not part of the price). We finish at approx 4pm in a pub or similar, tho attendees can jump ship at any time.

This walk from Bethnal Green to Greenwich traverses the River Thames taking us via Stepney and Limehouse to follow the Thames Path down the Isle of Dogs to Island Gardens where we walk through the foot tunnel to Greenwich and, weather and legs permitting, up to the observatory for a fabulous view (closest station Greenwich or Blackheath)

The other two routes are Whitechapel to Westminster on 27th December and Queensway to Kingsway on 29th December – please see my other listings to find out more

  • The exact meeting point will be clearly described on your ticket and confirmation which will be sent by email after purchase. Please note do not rely on maps suppled by non-Eventbrite apps as these often give incorrect info.

The photo is mine, but this view will not be possible on this tour

My guiding style is inclusive, open and friendly. – in fact, the research never ends. The walks and talks I offer are all on subjects that intrigue me – each highlights a different facet of my personality. I am particularly interested in the architecture of our ever-changing streets and the little details on and above them. For more info, please see

Customer feedback: "My husband and I have been on a few on your walking tours in the past and we thoroughly enjoyed them" / "Really interesting and your knowledge is amazing!" / "I loved the mix of history and typographic details" / "This was so very interesting! There is so much still there but most people don't notice."
