An Educational Series: Psilocybin — Healing, Science & Sacred Tradition
About this Event

Curious about psilocybin but unsure where to begin?

Whether you're exploring this medicine for the first time, supporting someone on their healing journey, or simply wanting to better understand the growing body of research, this educational gathering offers a welcoming space to learn, ask questions, and engage in thoughtful conversation.

Together we'll explore psilocybin through multiple lenses—Indigenous traditions, modern clinical research, harm reduction, and personal preparation—while honoring both the ancient wisdom and contemporary science surrounding this remarkable medicine.

During this session we'll explore:

🍄 The history and traditional relationship with psilocybin-containing mushrooms

🧠 Current research on mental health, neuroplasticity, trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, and end-of-life care

🛡️ Harm reduction principles and safety considerations

🌿 Set & Setting: creating supportive internal and external environments

💛 Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual preparation

✨ Intention setting and respectful approaches to working with sacred medicines

🌱 The importance of integration and how meaningful healing continues long after the experience itself

📚 Helpful books, research, podcasts, and educational resources for continued learning

This gathering is intended for educational purposes and community discussion. It is designed to empower participants with balanced, evidence-informed knowledge while honoring the Indigenous communities who have stewarded many of these sacred medicines for generations.

Whether you're simply curious or already walking your own healing path, all are welcome.

Your Facilitators

This series is facilitated by Andrea Taahaabaah Twitchell and guest facilitators of The Medicine Way.

Andrea is an Indigenous educator, therapeutic bodyworker, spiritual coach, and founder of The Medicine Way, a nonprofit holistic spiritual community dedicated to healing through education, relationship, and community. She holds graduate degrees in Clinical Counseling and Art Therapy and brings together Indigenous worldview, trauma-informed care, expressive arts, mindfulness, somatic practices, and current psychedelic research to create spaces that are compassionate, grounded, and accessible.

Our intention is to cultivate a respectful environment where learning, curiosity, and thoughtful dialogue can flourish—bridging ancient wisdom with modern understanding while encouraging participants to make informed decisions that support their own health and well-being.
