About this Event
Join the experts in Marriott's Way's railway history for this fascinating walk between the former Norwich City and Hellesdon stations - once part of the Midland & Great Northern Line.
Hear stories of passengers and personalities, wartime damage and accidental river 'dippers'; see historic photos and identify the remnants still visible today - much of which was unearthed by the Friends of Norwich City Station/the Norfolk Railway Heritage Group themselves.
This walk will operate on a pay-what-you-can basis, with no requirement to donate. Any donations will be split between the Friends of Norwich City Station and the Friends of Train Wood & Marriott's Way, to support ongoing costs.
The walk will begin at the Barn Road entrance to the Marriott's Way, and end by the former Hellesdon Station - a distance of approximately 2 miles. At the end of the walk, you can either return to Norwich via the Marriott's Way (on foot or by bike), or make use of the regular bus service departing from nearby Dereham Road.
